2. FREA monitors activities relative to the Florida Retirement System, particularly the management of the Trust Fund.
3. The FREA State Legislative Committee organizes advocacy on retirement issues. They are your voice at the capitol.

4. Scholarship programs that help young people and teachers are provided through the Florida Retired Educator's Foundation.
1. Improved benefits and services for retirees. These benefits include Pension, Health Insurance Subsidy (HIS), and the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA)
5. FREA works with AARP to provide strong leadership in the area of needed legislation.

6. A variety of insurances, benefits, and services with discount group prices are offered to members.
7. Social contacts with other professionals and community and state leaders provide intellectual and emotional benefits to our members.

8. LWREA provides members opportunities to serve as volunteers throughout the community.
